‘That Was Crazy’: Influencers Recreate DDLJ Scenes In Maratha Mandir As Audience Cheers Madly

Who didn’t fall in love with DDLJ ever since it was released? When Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol redefined romance, the country made the film a timeless classic. Interestingly, Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir still screens the film every day for the last 28 years and the jampacked audiences prove what the film means to them.

Recently, an influencer duo decided to recreate the iconic ‘Tujhe Dekho To’ song from DDLJ inside the theatres.

The viral moment was created by Siddhesh Lokare and Onella Rodrigues around the film’s re-release during Valentine's Day week. The duo took over the balcony in front of the screen and performed amid thundering applause and cheers. Dressed in a black leather jacket and clutching a ukulele similar to Raj, Lokare witnessed Rodrigues running over to him as Simran.

The post was captioned, “We took our love for SRK-Kajol to the iconic Maratha Mandir! What energy, what an execution, what a collaboration!!! Still trying to wrap our heads around the fact that we made this happen in front of 100+ odd DDLJ lovers! Cheers to the art of content creation!” Watch the viral video here:-

SRK’s recent release Pathaan is in the fourth week of its theatrical run and has minted over 500 crores at the domestic box office.

A few years back when DDLJ completed its 25th anniversary, SRK revealed how without being inclined towards romance, he landed in DDLJ's kitty.

He quoted as reported by Quint, “I have to admit, for someone who doesn’t like mushy, romantic films, the scenes with Kajol and I did make me feel all fuzzy and warm. There, I said it! I don’t change the radio channel when a DDLJ song comes on. I can never get sick of them. They bring back memories of a film that shaped my path forward in an unforgettable way.”
