In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Arbaaz Khan had spoken how his son Arhaan, who was 12 at the year of their split, dealt with his separation with Malaika.?

Opening up about how his then 12-year-old son Arhaan Khan dealt with their divorce, Arbaaz told Pinkvilla,

"I guess we underestimate the intelligence of children. My boy was almost 12 years old, and he had a fair understanding. We like to think otherwise. He was aware of what was happening. They can sense it, you know. They can smell things in the house. So there was not much needed to sit him down and explain things to him. But, he was pretty much aware, and it was all ok."

Malaika and Arbaaz tied the knot in 1998. In 2017, they announced their split, citing they have chosen to move on.
