Om Raut¡¯s Adipurush hit the theatres on June 16 and went flat on the face for its highly criticised representation of deities. An unclaimed adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana, the film features Prabhas as Raghava aka Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Janaki aka Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh aka Ravana.
Amid several FIRs and ongoing cases in Allahabad High Court, Manoj has finally issued a public apology for the same. He took to Twitter and wrote in Hindi, ¡°I accept people¡¯s emotions have been hurt by Adipurush. With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apologies. May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and grant us strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and our great nation.¡±
One user wrote, "Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer Adipurush is at the tail end of its theatrical run & now this fellow makes this statement whereas previously he refused to even accept Hanuman ji as God & what not unacceptable was featured in the movie in terms of tapori language!"
"Your contribution in destroying the great legacy of Bhagwan Ram is no less than Islamic jihadi. They break our temples but you have broken the soul of the great character of the Lord Rama. Shameful."
¡°First playing with the faith of the majority and earning crores of rupees and later becoming apologetic, this is the right jugaad in the hands of the buffoons of Bollywood.¡±
¡°After 45 days u are asking forgiveness. A life of humiliation is what is ur destiny. Even Ur generations may not redeem. Maybe God himself forgives u.¡±
Adipurush is among a few of the costliest films made ever in India with a budget of over Rs 600 crore. But the movie failed to even gross Rs 400 crores making it a disaster failure. This is the third flop from South star Prabhas after Saaho and Radhe Shyam. Fans hope his upcoming Salaar compensates for the dry days.
