Fans decoding cinema theories is one of the best things on the internet and this is another one!
Ranbir Kapoor is all set to take his daddy issues to another level as he goes beyond boundaries in the newly released Animal trailer. The movie explores the tumultuous relationship between RanbirĄ¯s character and his father played by Anil Kapoor. This adult crime thriller arrives in theatres on 1st December!
If one can recall, Ranbir frequently had problems with his dad in his earlier movies. In Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Aditya Roy Kapur in one of the scenes tells Ranbir ĄŽTu to apne baap ki mayaat tak me nahi ayaĄ¯. In Wake Up Sid, despite his father offering him to take over his business, Ranbir wishes to baselessly change his mind.
This list also includes his films Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Tamasha, Jagga Jasoos, Sanju and Shamshera.
Some people even shared that it might be his real issues with his father Rishi Kapoor that transcends across his movies. It might be as in a 2015 interview with Bollywood Life, Ranbir said, Ą°I cannot sit with him and talk about my problems and my life. I can talk to my mom. ThereĄ¯s nothing more to it.Ąą
While talking to Variety, the Saawariya actor said, Ą°I was really drawn to the script of Animal. ItĄ¯s a unique and intense story that immediately caught my attention. As for watching Arjun Reddy or Kabir Singh, I must admit that I did watch both films and found them to be incredibly powerful and impactful. However, my decision to accept Animal was not solely based on those films.Ąą
Ranbir concluded by saying, Ą°My character in Animal does possess some of the traits typically associated with Sandeep Reddy VangaĄ¯s protagonists. He is indeed tough and uncompromising in certain aspects.Ąą But there are some traits which also set him apart. Ranbir added, Ą°While he may exhibit strength and determination, there are also moments of vulnerability and internal conflict that make him more relatable and human.Ąą
For the unversed, Animal is an adult-rated film by Sandeep Reddy Vanga which will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
