Mumbai police arrested a man from Jamshedpur who had threatened Salman Khan in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The man had sent a threatening message on WhatsApp to Mumbai traffic Police, demanding a ransom of ? 5 crore from the Bollywood star. The incident came in the backdrop of the recent murder of Salman's close friend and NCP leader Baba Siddique.
The Mumbai Police registered a case against an unknown person after receiving a threatening message. With the help of local police in Jamshedpur, a vegetable seller, Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, was arrested late Wednesday in the case.
The man, who sent the threat message to Salman on October 18, later issued an apology on October 21, stating that the message was "sent by mistake". While investigating the matter amid the ongoing probe into Baba Siddique's death, the Mumbai police tracked down the man's location in Jamshedpur and eventually arrested him with the help of local authorities.??
In his message, the sender claimed, "Don't take it lightly, if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wants to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay???5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan's condition will be worse than Baba Siddique's."
Salman Khan's security has been upgraded to the Y+ category following the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claiming responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddique on October 12. A specially trained constable, skilled in handling all types of weapons, will stay by his side to ensure protection. The actor has also been asked to avoid unnecessary visits.
Despite fresh death threats by the Bishnoi gang over the Blackbuck case, Salman Khan has refused to stall the shooting of his upcoming film Sikander. "Salman Khan is fully committed to his work. He has been shooting for Bigg Boss 18 with high-level security and has now moved to shooting Sikandar. His entire team is being careful about the security arrangements and Salman himself has been making sure that no one suffers a delay because of him," a source close to the production revealed.
