Every story has two sides and one must not jump toconclusions by listening to one side of the story. Just a while ago, many people on the internetslammed Tanishq for its ad showing inter faith marriage where a Hindugirl is married in the Muslim family and together they were celebrating her godh-bharai.
Now, there is another side to the story which points towards problems that occur in interfaith marriages. Late music composer Wajid Khan¡¯s wife Kamalrukh, who is a Parsi, spoke about how?her in-laws were forcing her towards conversion after her marriage with Wajid. In fact, their relationship had?almost resulted in a divorce as she had said no to Islamic conversion.
In her lengthy Instagram post Kamalrukh shares howshe was devastated after she was forced to convert because theirs was a love marriage as they were childhood sweethearts,
She even mentions that she shared this post todayas despite her husband¡¯s death she is till forced by his parents for theconversion, ¡°Today post his untimely death, the harassment from his familycontinues. I stand fighting for the rights and inheritance of my children whichhave been usurped by them. All this because of their hatred against me for notconverting to Islam. Such deep rooted hatred that even death of a loved onecould not move.¡±
She ended her post by writing, ¡°Religion should bea cause for celebration of differences not separation of families. Allreligions are the path to the divine. Live and let live should be the onlyreligion we all practice¡±.
