16 years and 32 films - Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has finally arrived. The minute Kabir Singh released worldwide, the actor has been receiving countless love and the box office collection can't stop ringing.
The movie has been getting mixed reactions regarding Shahid's character but that has not stopped the movie from becoming Sasha's first solo hit. Shahid made a debut with Ishq Vishq but it was his role in Fida that got him noticed. This was the first time Shahid was featuring a thriller film opposite Kareena Kapoor. This was also the first time when Kareena played a negative role. Back then, Kareena and Shahid were dating in real life but in the film, they are first falling in love and then seen killing each other.
An interesting plot of that time, Shahid is first seen as an innocent boy who falls in love with Neha (Kareena Kapoor) but after learning about her intent and affair with Vikram (Fardeen Khan), he decides to teach them a lesson. The scene where he is seen killing Neha (Kareena) is the most heartbreaking one.
The movie received mixed response but it was Shahid's performance that touched the chord with the people.

This released exact 11 years ago.The camaraderie between Vidya Balan and Shahid looked so seamless that people almost thought the two were dating in real life too. Based on a Hollywood film Just My Luck, the movie was a semi hit at box office. Shahid is seen as the naive guy who is a numero uno in college and academics but when it comes to getting the big break in the field of architecture, he struggles. He's the most favourite among the staff teachers and students and that's what makes his role heartwarming.
One of the most controversial movies of 2018 released after much debate and backlash. The movie opened to positive response and a smashing box office. Starring Ranver Singh and Deepika Padukone, the film crossed Rs 100 crore in less than a week. They were most applauded for their performances as Khilji and Padmaavat respectively. However, another promising actor who stole the light away was Shahid Kapoor. The man played Maharaj Ratan Rawal Singh who had a subtle yet strong character. His role was an underdog and a promising one.While it wasn't the most popular character, it definitely makes you fall in love with him.

The movie definitely deserves a watch for its smart plot. Although, the reviews were mixed and it couldn't get the box office ringing, Kangana and Shahid have the most titillating chemistry, unseen in Bollywood in a long time. It was the most awaited film but couldn't garner enough money as expected. The cocky Jamadar Nawab Malik played by Sasha, the third vertex of the love triangle is the most interesting one too out of the trio. Yes, there's Saif in the film too.

Is there a role that Shahid Kapoor cannot take up? Whether it's a role of an officer (Mausam), business tycoon ( Jab We met), college boy (Ishq Vishq) , doctor (Kabir Singh) or a goon in R..Rajkumar. Actors usually take up multiple movies in a year and mess some of them but Shahid takes one film in one or two films and puts his best foot forward. Even if the movie doesn't meet the audience expectation, his role and his performance is always appreciated. In this film too, Shahid is seen in an out and out action masala film who falls in love with Chanda (Sonakshi Sinha). Fighting the goons like Sonu Sood, he emerges victorious and it's a happy ending for Sonakshi and him. The chemistry between them was so real that most people actually thought they were dating in real life (no, they weren't).
Shahid got his due as an actor with Kaminey and on some levels with Haider too but if one has to compare the two Vishal Bhardwaj films, Haider tops the chart. During the filming, the actor was so sure about thefilm that he did not even charge for the film. The film is both a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet and an adaptation of Basharat Peer's memoir Curfewed Night, set amidst the insurgency-hit Kashmir conflicts. This is by far' Shahid's best performance which could have gone unnoticed by the millennial lot. Must see. Shahid has himself admitted that filmmaker Vishal brings out the best in him and it's easy to tell.

There is no doubt that this film is one of the most popular films of Shahid Kapoor. It is also one of the most commercial films that got Shahid back on the map as it it was a super hit of 2007. The movie, however, got Kareena Kapoor way more popularity and love than Shahid. Her character Geet was touted as the most adorable one and the movie revolved around her lovelife. But Aditya played by Shahid? is one of the most underrated performances of Shahid. It'll make you want to have an Aditya in your life already. Watch Jab We Met, this time for him.
