Aashiqui Fame Anu Aggarwal Recalls Horrific Car Accident That Had Put Her In Coma For 29 Days

After the release of?Aashiqui, actress?Anu Aggarwal had turned an overnight star. Just when things were looking up, life took a tragic turn she met with an accident in 1999. She was in coma for almost a month -- 29 days. After her treatment, doctors had almost given up but yoga helped her recover.

Talking about her near to death experience, Anu Aggarwal told TOI, "In the year 1999, I met with an accident and slipped into a coma. I used to live in an ashram before the accident where I had a spiritual name. After the accident, I knew nothing, but I knew my spiritual name. In 2001, I took ‘sanyas (renunciation)’ and kept my head shaved. I lived with a bag in one hand, in humble surroundings. just studying the mind and human psychology".

Earlier in an interview with Pinkvilla, she had revealed that doctors said that she won't live more than three years."She won’t live. She will survive for hardly 3 years.’ But I was certain I could heal. Then everything I had learned, I applied on myself and healed myself. Then, I started yoga therapy for slum kids, and then I was later recognised by other organisations where I gave talks".

It happened when she was driving her car in the torrential rains. The car turned three somersaults and crashed in the Chowpatty area.?

"After the accident, I had forgotten how to apply lipstick too. Soon people started to post my ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures. My no-makeup look pictures went viral. I was so shocked to see so much happening around me."

"In 2006, I came back and started meeting people and the press stationed outside my house. I would greet them with humility".

Anu is doing fine now. She has an institute where she teaches yoga to people.?
