After Bashing Vijay Deverakonda, Film Exhibitor Targets Akshay Kumar For Delivering Flop Movies

Days after bashing south star Vijay Deverakonda for his remarks on the 'boycott trend', owner of Gaiety Galaxy theatre Manoj Desai has criticized Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for delivering three consecutive flops.?

Akshay Kumar, who is known for giving no less than four movies every calendar year, has already delivered three films - Raksha Bandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, and Bachchan Paandey, this year, but, all of them failed to impress the audience and eventually flopped at the box office.?

Now, Manoj Desai, a veteran film exhibitor and a well-known critic of film stars has voiced his opinion on Akshay Kumar’s three consecutive flop movies.?

Recalling the time when Akshay Kumar visited Gaiety Galaxy before the release of his film Bachchan Paandey, Manoj Desai told Bollywood Hungama, “Picture banai, kya banai? Kya kar rahe hai? Content galat, subject galat.”?

The veteran exhibitor also spoke about Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan, which has been directed by Aanand L Rai. “Aapney (Akshay Kumar) Raksha Bandhan banai usmai public bilkul satisfied aapkey content se nahi thi. Ussi tarah Laal Singh Chaddha ke content se bhi public bilkul satisfied nahi thi,” Manoj Desai said.?

Moreover, referring to Aamir Khan’s intolerance remark the popular theatre owner also highlighted how it affected the actor and led to the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha at the box office.?

While he did not have anything to say about Sooryavanshi actor Akshay Kumar’s comments that may have hurt public sentiments, the exhibitor did mention that his remarks contributed to Raksha Bandhan becoming a flop.?

“Koi bhi artist ko politics nahi karna chahiye,” Manoj Desai said and further discussed how negative publicity can affect a film at the ticket windows by giving the example of Ranbir Kapoor's Mahakal temple controversy ahead of Ayan Mukerji's film Brahmastra's release.?

Manoj Desai said, “Ye kitni gandi publicity ho rahi hai inki. Vo jo, khas kar ke religious public hai, woh to yahi bolegi ke Mahakal mein enter nahi karne diya Ujjain mein, picture nahi dekhenge.”?

Earlier, the director of Gaiety Galaxy theatre had lashed out at south star Vijay Deverakonda's arrogance and his remarks on the boycott trend. Manoj Desai claims he faced a huge loss in advance booking of Liger because of Vijay Deverakonda's comments.?

Slamming actor Deverakonda, Manoj Desai had said, "Mr. Vijay, you are anaconda, not ‘Konda Konda.’ You are talking like an anaconda. ‘Vinaash kaale vipareet buddhi’, when the time of destruction inches closer, the mind stops working, and you are doing that. anyways, it’s your wish.”
