After constantly extending his support to the protest farmers, Sonu Sood will now be seen in a movie titled Kisaan. The announcement was made by the legendary star Amitabh Bachchan, who took to Twitter to write, "All good wishes to film #Kisaan, directed by #ENiwas and acted by @SonuSood."
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed the same as he wrote, "IT'S OFFICIAL... SONU SOOD IN #KISAAN... #SonuSood will head the cast of #Kisaan... Directed by E Niwas... Raaj Shaandilyaa - who made his directorial debut with #DreamGirl - will produce the film... Balance cast will be announced shortly."
Sonu Sood has been standing in solidarity with the farmers. On social media, he told his fans that famers' role is crucial in our lives as well as the country.?
He also said that "farmer's status is no less than a parent."
"Farmer is India. (Kisan hai Hindustan)," he had written in another tweet.
Sonu Sood who was usually seen in supporting roles, mostly of a villain, recently revealed how filmmakers have now started to approach him for lead roles.?
"I am getting all hero roles now. I have got four-five brilliant scripts. Let¡¯s hope... It's new beginnings, new innings, it is a new pitch and it will be nice fun," he told PTI.
Sonu Sood, who is humble and grounded, emerged a real life hero during the lockdown. He has won millions of fans who see him as a superhero. Not only them, even South superstar Chiranjeevi is fond of him. The megastar refused to hit him for a scene in their upcoming Telugu movie together Acharya. Chiranjeevi feared people's reaction given his new found image as a hero.
"We were doing an action sequence and Chiranjeevi sir said, ¡®You being in the film is a big problem for us because I can¡¯t hit you in the action scene¡¯. He said if he does that people will curse him. There was another sequence where he was placing his feet on me but that too was reshot," Sood said.
Sood believes that there was some force working behind him and guiding him during the lockdown period.?
