Richa Chadha¡¯s ¡®Galwan Says Hi¡¯ tweet has made the country wonder what made Richa say so. Soon after her alleged mockery of Galwan martyrs, several celebrities and netizens took to Twitter and condemned Richa¡¯s insensitive take on issues that involve the country's service personnel. Actor Anupam Kher and film body FWICE have now responded to Richa¡¯s controversial tweet.
Vivek Agnihotri in his first attempt to condemn Richa¡¯s views, tweeted, ¡°I am not surprised at all with this behaviour. They genuinely feel anti-India. Dil ki baat jubaan pe aa hi jaati hai. And then they ask why people want to #BoycottBollywood #Shame.¡± When that was not enough, Vivek had more words to spill later in the day.
He later tweeted, ¡°Bollywoodiyas are the first to stand up against establishment, oppression & authority. They are also the first to kneel down in front of Bollywood¡¯s corrupt establishment. But they have cheeks to question our great army.¡± When someone asked him if he doesn¡¯t belongs from Bollywood, Vivek replied saying, ¡°NO. I DON¡¯T. I am an independent filmmaker.¡±
The Uunchai actor tweeted in Hindi, ¡°Desh ki burai karke kuch logon ke beech lokpriya hone ki koshi karna kayar aur chote logon ka kaam hai. Aur sena ke samman ko daav par lagana¡ isse zyada sharmnaak aur kya ho sakta hai (trying to become popular among some people by talking badly about your country is the work of cowards and small people. And putting the honour of the army at stake... what can be more shameful than this).¡±
An official statement released by them quoted, "The Federation of Western India Cine Employees, which is the oldest and the largest organisation of Cine workers and is the mother body of 32 different crafts of workers, technicians, and artists working in the Film Industry has condemned the most irresponsible statement tweeted by Actress Richa Chadha abusing and disrespecting our soldiers who have laid down their lives at Galwan," the statement said.
Richa in a now-deleted tweet was accused of insulting Commander Lt General Upendra Dwivedi's statement about the Army¡¯s plan to take back PoK. Soon after the backlash, Richa removed her tweet and issued a public apology for the same.
