Athenna Crosby Shares About Her Last Meeting With Matthew Perry, Says He Wanted To Lose Weight
Watching FRIENDS will never be the same again knowing that Matthew Perry is no longer among us in this world. It will be a bittersweet experience. The man who made us laugh for so many years left us in tears with his sudden and unexpected death.?
We don't know about his last moments, or how he felt before he allegedly accidentally drowned in the hot tub, an experience he apparently enjoyed as seen in his last Instagram post. However, a day before his death, he met?Athenna Crosby. The 25-year-old has shared about her last meeting with him.
The model-actress and a former entertainment journalist whom he referred to as 'the number 1' girl was even photographed with him at a hotel called Bel-Air.?
She said that Perry was happy a day before his death and in fact excited about some extremely good things coming in his life.
"He was so happy and vibrant", she said adding that he was excited about losing weight and playing pickleball the following day.
She also clarified that they were not on a date, but just pals who had met through a common friend.?
In a note on Instagram, she said, "I wasn't going to speak about this but what I will say is I had the honor of knowing Matthew personally. I am so devastated from his death but felt it was in poor taste to talk about it publicly as the attention should not be on me but rather on him and his legacy and he was an extremely private person and I always respected that in our friendship. But indeed, we were friends and I was one of the last people to speak to him and see him before he passed."
In another post, she shared about their lunch together.?
Athenna Crosby said, "I want to emphasize that Matthew was in extremely good spirits and talked to me enthusiastically about the things he had coming up in his life. He was so happy and vibrant."
Crosby asked people to not make their own theories about his death. "Know that man was on a comeback and truly deserved more time on this earth. Our entertainment industry has truly lost a legend. RIP."
Meanwhile, his ex-fiancee Molly Hurwitz who was dating Perry between 2018 to 2021 posted a heartwarming note for him in which he called him "complicated".
"He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented. As the?Friends?reunion was approaching, we rewatched the show together. 'F--k, I was so good! See what I did there???' We rewound and studied scenes. Our respect and appreciation of humor is something that connected us. Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical. But, I obviously knew that man in a very different way, too. While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I¡¯d never known. No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship. I¡¯d be remiss if I didn¡¯t mention Al Anon, an invaluable resource for those who love someone struggling with this destructive disease. Matty, I feel relief that you are at peace.
