Ayushamann Khurrana Might Play Sourav Ganguly In His Biopic & People Aren't Happy; Here's Why
It has been almost two years since Sourav Ganguly announced his own biopic. Since then, fans have been waiting to know who will star in it as?Dada.?While earlier reports claimed that Ranbir Kapoor is being considered for the role, now reports suggest that Ayushmann Khurrana is in talks to essay the role of?Prince of Calcutta.?

It is said that the makers have been discussing the project with Khurrana for months now, and he has given his nod of consent. "The talks have now reached an advanced stage, and it¡¯s only a matter of some formalities before he is officially signed on. They are confident that Ayushmann, who is also a left-handed batsman, is an ideal choice for Ganguly¡¯s role. Dada, as he is fondly called, has also approved Ayushmann¡¯s casting and will soon meet him personally," a source told PeepingMoon.?
Now, a Mid-Day report also suggests that he has been locked in for the role. The film will be directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The shooting will start in December. Since, Ayushmann is also a left-handed batter, preparing for the role is going to be comparatively easier. However, he will still be undergoing rigorous training to ace his mannerisms, batting and bowling style among other things.
Meanwhile, an official confirmation is awaited.?
Fans, however, have mixed reactions to this development.?
While some say that a Bengali should have been cast in the roles, others think Ayushmann will ace this character as well.?

Earlier, reports suggested that Ranbir was in talks for the role. However, he denied the speculations saying he has not been approached.?

"I think dada (Sourav Ganguly) is a living legend not just in India, but around the world. A biopic on him will be very special. Unfortunately, mujhe yeh film offer nahi huyi hai (I have not been offered this film). I think the makers of Luv films are still writing the script," he was quoted as saying at an event.?

Ganguly had announced his biopic in Sep 2020. At that time, he said, "Cricket has been my life, it gave me confidence and the ability to walk forward with my head held high, a journey to be cherished.
