Vikrant Massey who has stirred up a storm with his statements while promoting his upcoming movie The Sabarmati Report has now revealed that he would love to play the role of cricketer Dinesh Karthik on the big screen, if ever a biopic on him is made. The actor, for the unversed, is often mistaken for the cricketer due to their striking resemblance.
Heaping praises on Karthik's journey, Massey said that his journey has been inspirational specially how he made a comeback after working as a commentator. "It will be a problem when Dinesh's biopic will be made. We have had a conversation on this topic. It's a very inspiring story. He started doing commentary and was recalled. He is a phenomenal bloke. He is a fantastic person," he was quoted as saying by NDTV.?
A few months ago, a fan confused Dinesh Karthik for Massey and heaped praises upon him on a tweet on X praising his work in Netfllix movie?Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba. "Just watched Phir Aayi Hasseen Dilruba, powerful performance by @DineshKarthika," the tweet read. What people didn't expect was?Karthik's response. The wicketkeeper responded, "Oh wow!!! Thanks" with a couple of laughing emojis.?
Karthik for the unversed announced his retirement from representative cricket in June. Thereafter, he has been appointed as the batting coach and mentor for Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) for upcoming 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). Vikrant Massey on the other hand is busy promoting his film The Sabarmati Report, which is based on real life incidents of 2002's Godhra train burning incident. The Bollywood actor is essaying the role of a journalist in the film produced by Ekta Kapoor which also stars Raashi Khanna and?Riddhi Dogra.??
