Taking a dig at Vir Das, the author expressed his thoughton Twitter that bought him a lot of criticism from filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan andothers.
Chetan wrote, ¡°I may fight or find many faults withmy mother but I won¡¯t go criticising her in the neighbours¡¯ house. I may find ahundred things wrong with my country but I won¡¯t go criticise it publicly on aninternational stage. Maybe it¡¯s just me, but some things are just not done.¡±

This definitely didn¡¯t go down well with many. Neeraj repliedon Chetan¡¯s tweet and wrote, ¡°When you have abusive parents who gaslight youinto believing ¡®these lashes are for your own good,¡¯ the only recourse left isto seek external help.¡±

Author- journalist Anna Vetticad too expressed her thoughts on Chetan Bhagat¡¯s problematic tweet, she wrote,"Children raped by relatives, women beaten up by husbands are told thesame thing: "the neighbours should not find out." Even women ofminority communities are told: "let's keep this within thecommunity." This is an old argument used by oppressors & theirsupporters.¡±
This was definitely a bad choice of words by the author!
