Kangana Ranaut seems to have upset yet another section of the society with her latest remarks on Indira Gandhi.
The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) have filed police complaints against Kangana for allegedly making 'seditious and derogatory remarks' on social media.
IYC national secretary Amreesh Ranjan Pandey and Ambuj Dixit, co-coordinator of the party's legal cell, filed a complaint against Kangana at the Parliament Street Police Station.?
Lauding former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Kangana wrote she took decisive action against 'Khalistanis'.?
She wrote that despite the undeniable fact that Indira Gandhi caused "suffering" to the nation, she crushed 'Khalistanis' like mosquitoes at the cost of her life.?
Kangana's comments read:
"Khalistani terrorists may be arm twisting the government today... But let's not forget one woman... The only woman prime minister ne inn ko apni jooti ke neeche crush kiya tha (the only woman PM who crushed them under her shoes). No matter how much suffering she caused to this nation... she crushed them like mosquitoes at the cost of her own life.... Lekin desh k tukde nahi hone diye...," she said.?
She further added,
"Even after decades of her death... aaj bhi uske naam se kampte hain yeh.... Inko vaisa he guru chahiye... (they shiver from her name even today...they need such a guru)."
The DSGMC, in its complaint, alleged that through her post, Ranaut has "intentionally" and "deliberately" portrayed the farmers' protest as "Khalistani movements".?
"It is submitted that the post is deliberately prepared and shared with criminal intention to hurt the feelings of the Sikh community," it alleged.?
They also urged the government to take strigent action against her.
"She should either be put in a mental hospital or jail. We demand strict action from govt for her hateful content on Instagram," Sirsa said in a tweet.
"Kangana Ranaut is a renowned actress and has a huge fan following of more than 7.8 million (78 lakh) people on Instagram. Therefore, her intentional, irresponsible and seditious posts have the ability to excite hatred, contempt and disaffection towards the Republic of India," the complaint said.
The complaint has been filed seeking the registration of an FIR against Ranaut under sections 124A (sedition), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).?
