This is not the first time Diljit Dosanjh, whose tickets for Dil-Luminati were also being sold for Rs 54 lakhs in the US (in black), has been accused of non-payment of dues. After choreographer, Rajat Rocky Batta lashed out at the Punjabi singer and his team, now another background dancer has accused the management team of?unfair pay, unprofessionalism as well as the mistreatment of dancers.?
The man who is making waves with his concerts abroad - singing with international pop sensation Ed Sheeran, Indian rapper Badshah, getting emotional while hugging his mom - has once again been accused of non-payment of dues. Background dancer named?Shilpa Sajan said she was offered the opportunity to perform at Dil-Luminati Europe Tour but she declined the offer. She said she was?offered only 80 GBP (Rs 8,700) while being expected to cover her own travel and accommodation expenses. They called it a "once-in-a-lifetime experience." Sajan also mentioned that similar issues occurred during Dosanjh's US tour, where dancers were not paid at all.??
Furthermore, she alleged that the entire industry is such and that dancers are often treated as "mere objects" and undervalued, despite their dedication and hard work. She concluded she gave up the opportunity and chose self-respect over that.?
In the comments, another dancer revealed, "This is incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I almost ended up doing the tour myself and know several girls who went through it¡ªstories of 2 am rehearsals, misinformation, and being messed around by management were all too common. It's sad to see dancers being treated this way, especially when the artist is making money in the arts through his singing. He should be supporting those who bring his vision to life on stage.Dancers deserve respect, proper payment, and recognition for their hard work and dedication. Thank you for raising awareness about this."
Earlier, when choreographer Rajat Rocky Batta had slammed Diljit Dosanjh's management for non-payment of dues for dancers Sonali Singh issued a statement saying that Rajat and others making the claims weren't part of the tour.
