Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was away from the silver screen for a long time, made a comeback with Mani Ratnam's much-awaited film 'Ponniyin Selvan 1'.?

The film has been creating a huge buzz ever since its announcement. Aishwarya Rai, who was last seen in 'Fanney Khan' is sharing screen space with an ensemble cast of Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha, among others.?

Aishwarya Rai received much praise for her look and character in the film. 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' was released in theatres on September 30 and 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' actress Aishwarya Rai took to her social media handle to post some pictures with ace director Mani Ratnam.?

This is not the first time Aishwarya collaborating with the director. The actress made her debut with Mani Ratnam's directorial, 'Iruvar' almost 25 years ago.?

Later, she also worked as the leading lady of the films 'Guru' and 'Raavan' with the ace filmmaker. She was paired with her now husband Abhishek Bachchan in both the movies.?

Coming to Aishwarya Rai's latest Instagram post, the beauty queen shared three pictures with Mai Ratnam on her social media account where she is holding the director close.??

While Aishwarya did not caption the post, she left heart-shaped and evil eye emojis.?

Meanwhile, many reacted to Aishwarya and Ratnam's picture together.?While some lauded their film PS1 others commented on their close relationship.?

Regarding Aishwarya Rai’s PS1, the release of the film was as smooth as it was imagined. Like other releases in Bollywood, PS1 too landed in a bit of trouble. Canada theatre owners reportedly received threats from fringe groups over the release of the movie.?

According to a Hindustan Times report, the overseas distributor of Mani Ratnam's upcoming film PS1 in Canada, KW Talkies, shared a Twitter post that revealed theatre owners were threatened with attacks if they released Ponniyin Selvan.?

However, despite all odds, it was released and the film has already earned over Rs 150 in the worldwide box office.
