Days after Anurag Kashyap caused a furore by saying that he hopes The Kashmir Files isn't selected as India's official entry for the Oscars, Canadian filmmaker?Dylan Mohan Gray who directed Netflix's?Bad Boy Billionaires: India's?The King of Good Times -?about the spectacular rise and fall of controversial Indian tycoon Vijay Mallya - has echoed Kashyap's thoughts.?
"Yeah, actually it¡¯s (hatemongering, revisionist) garbage of no artistic merit and will be a further embarrassment to india if ¡®selected¡¯ by the ¡®neutral¡¯ board," he wrote on Twitter.
He added, "@anuragkashyap72 is just trying to preserve what¡¯s left of the country¡¯s good name #yourewelcome #KashmirFiles."
"Though RRR is also vile and sadistic, so not much of a step up".
To this, a user asked, "I DONT KNOW WHICH RRR YOU WATCHED."
And the filmmaker responded, "Watched on @NetflixIndia -- basically a primitive feast of sadism, not recommended."
He wrote on Twitter, "Important: The vicious, genocide-denier lobby of Bollywood has started their campaign against The Kashmir Files for Oscars, under the leadership of the maker of Dobaaraa (Anurag)".
He responded to Anurag Kashyap who in a recent interview had said, "India might actually have a nomination in the final five if RRR is the film they pick. I don¡¯t know what film anybody is going to pick. I hope not The Kashmir Files."
