American filmmaker Scott Derrickson, who is known for his directorial Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that he watched SS Rajamouli's blockbuster film RRR with his family on his 56th birthday and described it as an "awesomely outrageous roller coaster of a movie."?
Soon after, the film's production house DVV Entertainment, thanked the director for his kind words. "From the director of Doctor Strange... Thank you Scott :) #RRRMovie," the makers quoted on Scott Derrickson's tweet on Sunday.?
Not only Scott Derrickson, even MCU's Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, who is also known for his work in the DCEU series Peacemaker, has showered his love on the Telugu blockbuster flick RRR.?
Just hours after his MCU colleague Scott Derrickson praised the film, a user quote tweeted Scott¡¯s tweet addressing it to James Gunn. The fan wrote, ¡°now you gotta watch this movie. RRR on Netflix,¡± to which James Gunn promptly responded saying, ¡°I did. Totally dug it.¡±?
Well, the appreciation chain didn't just end there as another fan tagged British filmmaker Edgar Wright in the same tweet, asking him to express his views regarding the film. The Shaun of the Dead director took to his Twitter account and replied, ¡°Waiting for a cinema screening. There¡¯s some in London coming up next month.¡±
While many from Hollywood have already showered praises on SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, filmmakers Scott Derrickson and James Gunn are certainly the two most high-profile personalities to laud the Telugu blockbuster movie.?
According to reports, RRR does stand a good chance to win in the Best International Feature Film category if it is sent by India as its official entry for Oscars 2023.
