After giving the industry some great films like Saathiya, Vivek Oberoi turned to his Plan B. The actor recently talked about how he thinks Bollywood is an insecure place. Vivek Oberoi spoke about how he had to go into business in order to oppose the industry lobby's activities. He disclosed that, despite the success of the movie Shootout at Lokhandwala, he had no work for 14 to 15 months, which drove him to decide to pursue a career in business.?
He said in an interview with Screen, "I have done about 67 projects in 22 years, but the industry is a very insecure place. You could be performing well, winning awards, and doing your job as an actor, but at the same time, you can get no work for other reasons. After 2007 when I did Shootout At Lokhandwala, the Ganpat song went viral, I won awards, so I expected a lot of offers, but I didn¡¯t get any. I sat at home for 14 to 15 months after the success of the film.¡±
He continued by saying that it wasn't until about 2009 that he made the decision to become economically independent rather than entirely reliant on this. He didn't want to be in a position where your future was determined by a lobby.?
He added, "Somebody could bully you into doing something because they controlled things."
He called business his ¡®plan B¡¯ and called acting his passion.
