Inspired By Aishwarya Rai's 'Ponniyin Selvan: 1', Katrina Kaif Wants To Feature In South Films

Katrina Kaif, who has been creating buzz for her equation with her husband Vicky Kaushal, is eyeing to bag projects in the south film industry after seeing some A-list Bollywood stars making a mark with their acting in south Indian movies.?

According to reports shared by IANS, Katrina Kaif, who at present is waiting for the release of her upcoming movie 'Phone Bhoot', has expressed her desire to feature in south films.?

If Katrina bags a south Indian movie, it won't be her first project in the South film industy. The Bang Bang actress had earlier starred in films down south like the 2004 Telugu flick Malliswari and 2005 movie Allari Pidugu, and a Malayalam movie titled Balram vs. Tharadas.?

Speaking of her plans to shift to the south industry, Sooryavanshi actress Katrina Kaif told IANS, "If ever there's a script which is compelling enough and has a strong character, language won't be a barrier for me. We have some phenomenal directors working in south India."?

Praising Aishwarya Rai's latest release, Ponniyin Selvan: 1, which is directed by Mani Ratnam, Katrina Kaif further said, "The best and the most recent example is Mani Ratnam sir's 'Ponniyin Selvan: 1'. Such an amazing film, na? Such grandeur, beautiful frames and music. To make a film on such a big scale at this stage in his life, that proves the mettle of an iconic director."?

On the work front, Katrina Kaif is returning to the big screens with Phone Bhoot after her fairy-tale-like wedding with Vicky Kaushal. Katrina's upcoming movie Phone Bhoot also features actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles.?

Produced by Excel Entertainment, the movie is slated to hit theatre screens on November 4, 2022. Katrina also has the third installment of Salman Khan's Tiger franchise in the works.?
