A South Korean artist accused the Kalki 2898 AD makers of illegally duplicating his work, days after the trailer for Nag Ashwin's much awaited film starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan in the key roles, was released. He even criticized the creators for their "bad practice" and provided evidence to back up his accusation.?
The scene in discussion is the dystopian city seen in the first frame of the Kalki 2898 AD trailer. The scene takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. He shared a frame of his own artwork that was published ten years ago, and there is a noticeable resemblance between both.
He shared a glimpse of his work on Instagram and wrote, ¡°Unauthorized use of artwork is a bad practice. I sometimes even question doing art in this lawless environment #kalki2898ad #vyjayanthimovies @kalki2898ad @vyjayanthimovies.¡±

Responding to it one wrote, ¡°The whole trailer gives off the vibe of epoch, mad max, dune and other films. The trailer of the film gives me the vibe of ¡°saga¡± comic book series published by image comics. A lot of designs from the trailer of the film are ripped off from halo series and death stranding too. Idk how some of the concept designers who worked on the film can stay silent. I¡¯m tempted to make a video to point these out btw. PS - we¡¯re a small Indian design / production firm too. A few times I was asked by clients to copy certain designs and modify them / use AI. I said no and we lost clients but never participate in such things.¡±
Another added, ¡°This is totally shame on them, the most sad thing is this is the intro shot of the production house .¡±
A third wrote, ¡°Someone should be held accountable for this theft. Me and my friends are so angry at this act. They keep ruining the industry.¡±
