The most infamous tiff between Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut began on Koffee With Karan. It made national headlines and made the word nepotism more popular than ever. Years later, Johar remains cursed with nepotism. As he is gearing up for season 7 which is releasing today, Kangana has once again taken a dig at him.
"Papa jo is promoting all famous coffee episodes as it premieres on OTT today. Good luck to papa jo. But what about this episode? Oh sorry¡surgical strike, ghar me ghus ke mara tha na (went inside his house and beat him up)."
"My episode is his most popular episode and after he got banned on TV just like their Filmfare awards," she wrote on Instagram.
"I have made him more popular than all his work put together."
In 2017, when Kangana Ranaut had appeared on Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan, she called him "movie mafia" and "flagbearer of nepotism".?
Kangana said so while answering who gives her most attitude in the industry. "I think you Karan. In my biopic, if ever it¡¯s made, you¡¯ll play that stereotypical Bollywood biggie, who is like you know¡very snooty and completely intolerant towards outsiders, flag bearer of nepotism, the movie mafia," she said.
While Karan Johar laughed at it during the show, he took offense to it several days later and alleging her to be using the victim and woman card, like always. Not only that, he also suggested her to leave the industry, if she has so many problems with it.?
He said he was "gracious enough" to not have edited her statements. He also said that he gave her a platform to speak what she felt, and this was his platform to put forth his opinion. "I am done" with Kangana Ranaut playing a victim all the time, and suggested that if she has so many problems with the industry, she may "leave it."
Since then, Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut haven't seen eye to eye with each other ever again.??
