It is known to everyone that in the Indian entertainment industry, Pakistani actors aren¡¯t allowed to work. It seems that the cinema wing of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena felt to reissue a statement on this. MNS in a recent development has warned all filmmakers across the country not to hire any Pakistani artists else to be ready for dire consequences.
A tweet shared by the President of MNS cinema wing Ameya Khopkar read, ¡°It has come to hear that few Bollywood filmmakers have started re-recruiting Pakistani artists. This low mentality keeps arising time by time hence we are giving clear hints that not only in Mumbai but anywhere in India for any drama/film if Pakistani talents will be seen then related makers will have to face consequences."
Following the militant attack in Kashmir, six years back the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association stated that Pakistan actors and technicians in Bollywood and other cinema hubs in India shall be banned until normalcy returns. Reportedly, the organization¡¯s president, TP Aggarwal has also said that Pakistanis would be banned from the Indian cinematic industry forever.
A few of the Pakistani artists who were actively working in Bollywood back then were Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Atif Aslam, Imran Abbas Naqvi, Veena Malik, Humaima Malik, Ali Zafar, Javed Sheikh, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It was in 2019, that the ban was re-issued by the All India Cine Workers Association.
Because of the Pulwama terror attack that led to the loss of 40 CRPF jawans, AICWA issued a statement which read, ¡°All Indian Cine Workers Association strongly condemns brutal terrorist attack on our soldiers at Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.¡±
¡°AICWA stands with the nation in confronting such terror and inhumanity. We're officially announcing a total ban on Pakistani Actors and Artists working in Film Industry. Still, if any organisation insist on working with Pakistani Artists will be banned by AICWA and strong action will be taken against them. The nation comes first, we stand with our nation,¡± the statement concluded.
