Sonu Sood gained the real life superhero status almost overnight. He is inspiring hope for the migrant workers during the pandemic. Sonu Sood has sent over 12,000 migrant workers home and reunited them with their families.
One such mother who was longing to meet her son stuck in Mumbai thanked him on social media in an emotional video message after he helped him in sending home.?
She took out a minute to record a message and send it Sonu Sood via Twitter.
"Tadapti rehti thi apne bachhe ke liye, apne laal ke liye. Aur ab main usko apne saamne dekh rahi hoon. Jis tarah tapte hue registan mein ek boondh paani mil jata hai, tadapti hue machli ko ek samundra mil jata hai, ussi tarah jab main tadap rahi thi, aisa? tohfa humein sonu bhai ne dia hai," she added.
Ą°Film star @SonuSood called on at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai today. Shri Sood briefed about his ongoing work to help the migrant people to reach their home states and to provide them food. Applauded his great work and assured him of his fullest support in these endeavours,Ąą he wrote.
"I was deeply saddened to see them walking with their little children on foot. These are the people who built our houses, our offices, they have laid the roads and I feel that we should not leave them in such distress," Sonu Sood was quoted as saying by ANI while explaining the reason that drove him to take up the initiative.
Speaking about the funds that go in to arrange road travel, Sood said that though he started the journey with his close friends and family on his own but he is now joined by volunteers who are coming forward to help in different ways.
