Nana Patekar Reveals Being Disturbed By Malhari Song In Padmaavat

Nana Patekar is returning to the big screen after almost 4 years with Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War. In this bio-science thriller film, Nana will be playing the role of Doctor Bhargava, the head of the scientist team who developed India’s first vaccine during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Soon after the trailer of the film was launched, Nana was highly appreciated for his character and comeback.

Nana was recently asked if as the film is said to be based on a true story, is there any possibility of discrepancy between the facts and figures. Replying to this, he said, “When you say it is a true story, it is based on real incidents, then we can ask certain questions from the creators because they can not take liberty with the facts.”

“If it is a true story, everything about it should be true. You can see it in Bhansali‘s films. I was unhappy with the song ‘Malhari’. I directly called him up and asked what is this ‘wat laavli’. I did not like it so I said it to him. I am not bothered what the people will like or not. If I did not like it, I told him.”

Nana recently took a dig at Gadar 2 and said that he couldn’t sit through it.

Without naming the film, he said, "Ab jis tarah ki filmein hit ho rahi hain... maine kal ek film jo bahut hi hit hui maine dekhi woh... Main matlab puri dekhi nahi pa raha tha. Lekin woh filmein bahut chalti hain. Ab mujhe lagta hai ki baar-baar hum iss tarike ka material dikhake logo ko majboor kartein hain yeh pasand karne ke liye.”

(The kind of movies being made today are such that the other day I saw a recent hit film and I could not even sit through it. I feel by making such movies again and again, we force people to watch them.)

Sharing his thoughts on Nepotism, Nana said in Hindi, “I am an actor and tomorrow I will give my son many chances in films and force people to watch him, whether he deserves it or not. Some disgusting films are working and with time people will start saying they are good films as they will get used to seeing them.”

Other than Nana, The Vaccine War features Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Sapthami Gowda and Mohan Kapur. It will see a theatrical release on September 28, 2023.
