One of the actresses in Bollywood who often steps into the character of a mother onscreen is Neena Gupta. Recently, the actress spoke about how female actors playing mothers and older siblings to younger male stars were normal in Bollywood earlier.?
The Badhaai Ho actress revealed that once she played an older sibling to actor Feroz Khan, who was two decades older than her at the time.As reported by indianexpress.com, during a Mirchi interview, actress Neena Gupta was joined by her co-star Sarika from Uunchai.?
To this, her co-star Sarika responded saying, ¡°Now, this is wrong, see?¡±?
As per the media outlet, Neena was possibly referring to the 1992 flick 'Yalgaar.' However, Sarika mentioned that even though things aren't perfect now, many male actors are now willing to portray the role of fathers to grown-up women, which wouldn¡¯t have taken place earlier.?
She said that even ¡¯70-year-olds¡¯ would play lead and romance actresses.Sarika further went on to say that while playing mothers isn¡¯t always a bad thing, it's wrong to play the character to actors who are younger in real life.?
On the work front, Neena Gupta's web series Masaba Masaba season 2 was recently released and was also seen in Panchayat 2. She also featured alongside megastar Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye.?
