Body shaming is a sad reality for women across the world. We are either too fat, too skinny, too short or too tall for the world.?
Women, especially celebrities, are expected to have a perfectly toned body, but who defines what's perfect??
As bizarre as it may sound, Vidya Balan was once asked if she would continue doing women-centric films or will she consider losing weight. As if the two can never converge in a way. How did she respond? She said, "What's the relationship between women-centric and weight loss?.....No, I'm very happy with the kinds of roles I am doing. It would be great if you could change your mindset."
Not just women, even men are body shamed. Remember when Fardeen Khan had gained weight and his photos went viral on social media. He was terribly trolled.?
He had posted an open letter on Twitter, which read, "Not ashamed neither shamed. Not offended. Not depressed. Not blind either. Am I happy? Emphatically! In fact, living the happiest chapter thus far with lbs to show for it. Happy to have been the weekends entertainment for all you trollers. If you have had enough fun please take the time to look at your own reflection. If trolling is what makes you feel better about yourself, you have to seriously think about you future prospects. My best wishes".
We are glad that these celebrities took a stand and spoke up about body shaming because this has paved way for many of us.?
