Already receiving treatment for throat cancer at a hospital in Mumbai, veteran Marathi actor Ravindra Berde was discharged a few days ago. On December 13, he passed away at the age of 78 due to a sudden heart attack.??
Ravindra was the brother of popular Marathi actor?Laxmikant Berde who starred in many Bollywood films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Mere Sapno Ki Rani, Aarzoo, Saajan, Beta, 100 Days and Anari. Laxmikant?died in 2004 due to a kidney ailment at the age of 50.
Ravindra Berde is best known for his role in Anil Kapoor starrer Nayak in which he portrayed the role of a corrupt politician and Ajay Devgn starrer Singham in which played the role of Zamindar Chandrakant among other movies. Besides Bollywood, he has worked in 300 Marathi films with actors like Ashok Saraf, Vijay Chavan, Vijoo Khote, and Mahesh Kothare, among others in movies such as Shodh, Khatarnak, Yeshwant, and Khilona Bana Khalnayak.
He is survived by his?wife, two children, daughter-in-law and grandchild.
