Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly has been mired in controversy for a long time now. The actress has met with several serious accusations made by her stepdaughter Esha Verma over the past few weeks. However, it was on November 11 that a defamation notice worth Rs 50 crore from Rupali made Esha delete all her posts on social media. While this was a win for Ganguly, the internet isn¡¯t happy.
After Esha deleted her posts targeting Rupali, the actress¡¯ lawyer?Sana Raees Khan called it a meaningful step toward justice. She told IANS, ¡°The deletion of defamatory posts following our legal notice establishes not only an acknowledgement on her part of wrongdoing and dissemination of falsehood but also the strength and validity of our case.¡±
However, the internet feels that the actress has simply tried camouflaging the truth with legalities. One Reddit user wrote, ¡°Lol, this action seemingly confirms whatever Esha wrote about her was true. She could have taken the high road and sorted it out with her personally instead of slapping a Rs 50 Cr lawsuit on a fresh graduate and ruining her career.¡± Another commented, ¡°This confirms Rupali is a real narcissist.¡±
The third user joked, ¡°Anupama toh toxic nikli.¡± Someone wrote on Instagram, ¡°She was telling the truth tho.¡± The fifth netizen opined, ¡°Poor girl !! A stepmother can never replace your own mother !!¡± ¡°Rupali got the karma. Proud of Esha Verma,¡± someone lauded the young woman. Many also shared that Rupali should have acted maturely rather than taking this route with her own daughter.
For those who don¡¯t know, Esha is the daughter of Rupali¡¯s husband Ashwin K Verma from his second marriage with Sapna. When initially these allegations surfaced, Ashwin had defended Ganguly against Esha. Talking about the actress¡¯ controversies, then Rupali has been time and again indirectly accused by her Anupamaa co-stars of trying to steal the screen time and being insecure.
