When Sandeep Reddy Vanga went to the US, there were no questions asked about misogyny in the Animal. That is when the filmmaker said, "What I really like about this crowd is that I didn't hear any questions on misogyny. I'm so happy, you are the right crowd. You saw Animal as a film."
The makers are openly taking digs at those who are criticising the movie. When a critic posted a negative review, the official Twitter handle of the movie responded with film's box office collection.?
In a clip going viral, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has called those giving negative review to his movie as illiterate and educated. "You think because of Rajeev Masand, Anupama Chopra and that Tyagi girl's (Suchitra Tyagi) review I got the first day opening? It's because of the craft, nobody speaks about the craft or the sound and design because they are literally illiterate and uneducated when it comes to films," he said.?
"They have no sense to criticise a film or review a film. They only see the sensitive part of the film and speak. If at all you want to sit with them and talk face-to-face, they don't have the guts," he said.?
Vanga disagreed that characters like Kabir Singh, Arjun Reddy and Ranvijay Singh in his movies are misogynistic. "I don't know why these 15-20 jokers do."
He added, "Misogyny is disrespect to women. This is the actual definition, right. So no. Even Kabir Singh, even Animal, even me as a person. I always feel my production house name is Bhadrakali Pictures and I don't know why people think... not too many people, only these 15-20 jokers. But it's a wrong word to use on Kabir Singh, Animal."
