Sunny Deol Regrets Having A Fallout With Shah Rukh Khan, Says It Was Out Of 'Childishness'

Sunny Deol recently ended his 16-year-old conflict with Shah Rukh Khan by hugging it out at Gadar 2’s success party. The duo’s feud traces back to the release of Yash Chopra’s 1993 film Darr. Sunny and SRK had starred in the film together but it didn’t go down well with Sunny how the film turned out to be.

Sunny alleged that despite playing a negative character, SRK was glorified much more than Deol who played the hero.

Reacting to the tiff, Sunny in his recent appearance on Aap Ki Adalat said, “A time comes when you forget everything that happened and you understand that that should not have happened as that was childishness. Definitely, after that Shah Rukh and I have met each other multiple times. We have talked about films. He watched my film with the whole family, he also called me up.”

It was on Aap Ki Adalat itself that Sunny had earlier spoken about what went wrong after Darr’s release.

He said, “I had a heated discussion with Yash Chopra regarding that scene. I tried to explain that I am a commando officer in the film. My character is an expert and physically fit, so how can this boy easily defeat me? He can only defeat me if I can’t see him. If he can stab me while I’m looking at him, then I won’t be considered a commando.”

During the altercation, Sunny recalled, “Out of anger, I didn’t even realise that I had torn my pants with my hands.”

Post the movie’s release, the actors did not communicate for 16 years. Things turned well after SRK called Sunny to congratulate him on Gadar 2’s success. Deol also recalled speaking to Khan’s wife and kids. SRK later also took to Twitter and said ‘Loved It’ in response to whether he watched Gadar 2.

Gadar 2 is currently running successfully in theatres and here’s the latest update on its box office collections!
