In an industry that thrives on glamour and personal milestones, Deepika Padukone¡¯s recent appearance at the Kalki 2898 AD event should have been a celebration. The last time when she flaunted her baby bump at the pooling booth, trolls had targetted her. Once again, they?took to social media to comment on her appearance, making insensitive and uncalled-for remarks, thus criticising her unnecessarily, about her pregnancy. We have hit a new low as a society.?
Once again, while some people called her baby bump fake, several others questioned why she was wearing heels in pregnancy. For the unversed, Deepika wore form-fitting black bodycon dress paired with black heels. There were positive comments too - talking about her pregnancy glow - but many others were quite mean.?
Before the event, Deepika shared some of the photos in which she could be seen laughing and holding her baby bump. She captioned the black and white photos as "Okay enough...Now I'm hungry".
When the host of the event Rana Daggubati joked if she was still in her character and asked, "You have been pushed into being a method actor." Deepika quipped, "I mean, clearly." For the uninitiated,?Deepika essays the role of a pregnant woman named Sumathi in the sci-fi film.
When Rana said,?"I can see you are still in character,"?Deepika responded with a smile on her face, "The movie went on for about 3 years, so I thought, why not? Just 3 months more."??
Sharing her experience shooting for the film, she added, "It was an incredible experience, a great learning experience. It was a completely new world and I think we went through different phases, discovering what the film was about. It was an incredible experience, both at a personal and professional level."
