Amid roaring backlash to Animal, people are lauding Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur. Everyone is praising how Vicky got the aced the mannerism of the war hero. But did he really nail the role to perfection??
After watching the movie, even the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar said, "Vicky Kaushal has acted so well that it feels like Sam Bahadur is right in front of us." Several others also praised him for shi brilliant and convincing portrayal of?Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. But this one Twitter user thinks he didn't do justice to the role, even without watching the movie.
"Many people were asking me whether I have watched Sam Bahadur, a biopic made on India¡¯s First Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw. As my handle is solely named after his home, the question was expected. My answer is NO.
"I was curious to watch it but then Vicky does not LOOK or ACT anywhere close to Manekshaw and this does a great injustice to the word BIOPIC. Manekshaw¡¯s appearance, charisma, and wit were missing. His mannerisms, speech, and presence looked kind of pushed. He never walked like that, he stood tall and did not HUNCH until old age.?
"Vicky is a good actor but sorry, this role was not made for him. Overdid things. If the makers cast him just for his acting then they should have also considered KK Menon or Jim Sarbh. Biopic on Dhoni and Milkha Singh were much better. I am disappointed. Indian Cinema still has a long way to go when it comes to Military History. Makers are lucky that these movies get a free ride on patriotism," the tweet read.
"That Hunch is really odd to look at. Manekshaw was ramrod straight even in his 70s", a user wrote.
"Saw it last night. Yes, the hunch is odd so is the OG & at times the mannerisms went overboard. But honestly...how many of the aam Janta knows about these details like you do? They got most of the events right & they made an honest attempt to paint the charismatic leader... that counts," said another one.
"You took the words from my mouth. Looked as if he trained himself by watching footage of FM Manekshaw's later years and of course, overdoing it is a Bollywood trademark. Nothing subtle nothing natural," said another one.
"True...a brilliant actor but overdid it with the hunch... His mannerisms do look forced rather than organic Jim would hv been nice for the role but then he doesn't have the star power", said another one.
