Vivek Agnihotri, whose acclaimed film 'The Kashmir Files' recently received a national award, commended the efforts of renowned South director Atlee for delivering a grand-scale mass entertainer like 'Jawan' starring Bollywood's superstar Shah Rukh Khan
During a brief conversation with ANI, he also offered his warmest congratulations to Shah Rukh Khan, producer and SRK's wife Gauri Khan, and the entire team for breaking Bollywood out of its rut and successfully luring Indian audiences back to the cinema halls.?
"I would like to congratulate Shah Rukh Khan, the film's director Atlee, Gauri Khan and the rest of the team for delivering such a successful film," he said.?
When asked about his own film 'The Kashmir Files' winning a national award, he added, "It is a proud moment and I'm most happy about the fact that the people of this country have acknowledged the pain of Kashmiri Pandits."??
Earlier, Agnihotri had 'predicted' that Jawan would be an 'all-time blockbuster'.?
A social media user had tweeted to the film director to 'clash with SRK if he has guts,' insinuating that he should release 'The Vaccine War' alongside Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'.?
Reacting to this on X (formerly known as Twitter), Agnihotri tweeted, 'We aren¡¯t in Bollywoodgame and terms like ¡®clash¡¯ etc.?are for stars and media. I can guarantee SRK¡¯s Jawan will be an all-time blockbuster. But after seeing it please also see our small film about India¡¯s greatest victory in a war you know nothing about. #TheVaccineWar.'
In another post on social media, he had written, 'We are a diverse country. I am sure there is space and audience for all kind of audience. Not every family wants to take their children to maar dhaad (action) films. Some like to show films to children that inspire, educate and enlighten. #TheVaccineWar #ATrueStory.'
'The Vaccine War' was scheduled to release on August 15 but has now been delayed to October 24 on the occasion of Dussehra. The film stars Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi and Raima Sen.?
