A woman dressed up as Goddess Kali is smoking a cigarette in the poster of?Leena Manimekalai's movie. The film's poster has been going viral on social media and has sparked major controversy. Following this, a complaint has been filed for allegedly insulting the Hindu goddess.
As per a Tamil news portal, the subject of the movie Manimekalai revolves around the events that take place one evening, when Goddess Kali appears and strolls on the streets of Toronto.
"Every day H!ndu religion is mocked, Is govt. testing our patience ??" read a tweet.
"This abominable depiction of Devi Kali is completely unacceptable.We Kshatriyas are devout devi worshippers and followers of Shakt tradition. Such brazen attempts intended to hurt the religious sentiments shouldn't go unanswered.," another tweet read.
"Such people get away so easily even after mocking our Gods!," wrote another user.
"Dear @GoI_MeitY @ianuragthakur @MIB_India I would like to request you to initiate action on @LeenaManimekali & team for insulting Hindu Kaali Mata goddess," another Twitter user wrote.?
Furthermore, he demanded?immediate registration of FIR against the independent director. He said that such a deplorable picture in context to the Hindu Goddess is extremely outrageous, atrocious and hurting the sentiments and belief of Hindu community.
His?complaint filed with the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police reads:
"This deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of Hindu Community through highly objectionable video and photo from her twitter account by the accused which is well circulated in social media and all public platforms is an offence under section 295A ,298, 505, 67 I.T Act and 34 IPC and therefore penal action should be taken against the accused."
The lawyer also said that the objectionable video clip and photo must be banned and removed from the internet on immediate basis considering the defamatory impact and enrage it would cause to Hindus as it has disparaged the religious beliefs of a particular community.
