1. He boosted morale of kids suffering from cancer while he was fighting his own battle!

While he fought the disease privately, he was making the lives of other people suffering from the disease a lot more happier, especially the kids. His heroism went beyond his films. He would pay them visits.?

2. He gave away his MTV award to a real-life hero!

When he won the MTV Movie and TV Award for Black Panther in 2018, he didn't take it home. He gave it away to James Shaw Jr, the man who was hailed as the real-life hero in a mass shooting at Nashville, Tennessee's Waffle House.

"Receiving an award for playing a superhero is amazing, but it's even greater to acknowledge the heroes that we have in real life. So I just want to acknowledge somebody that's here today. James Shaw Jr., where are you? Stand. You didn't even know we were about to do this, did you?"?

"He fought off a gunman in Antioch, Tennessee, at a Waffle House. He saved lives,” Boseman said of Shaw Jr., who joined the actor on stage to accept the award. “This is going to live at your house."

3. Even during the filming of Black Panther, he was giving hope and courage to two little kids suffering from cancer. He teared up while talking about them.?

Knowing that he was suffering from cancer himself, makes the speech even more emotional now.?

"There are two little kids, Ian and Taylor, who recently passed from cancer. And throughout our filming, I was communicating with them, knowing that they were both terminal. And they said to me and their parents, ‘They’re trying to hold on until this movie comes,'"Boseman said.?

4. The father of one of the kids has paid tribute to Chadwick and thanked him for giving his kid strength while he was going through the same himself.

Brian Hammond shared a video Boseman had sent to his son in 2017. His son was diagnosed with leukemia and was communicating with Boseman throughout the filming of Black Panther.

5. In his final text messages to Josh Gad, he inspired him to 'take advantage of every moment we can'.

6. 'There is no Black Panther without Denzel Washington', he paid tribute to the Oscar winner star who paid his tuition fee.

He paid a touching tribute to Denzel Washington when he won the Lifetime Achievement award at?2019's American Film Institute Awards.?

"There is no 'Black Panther' without Denzel Washington," he said and added that he was once given a scholarship to attend a program at University of Oxfored which he later found was funded by the Oscar winning actor.?"And not just because of me. My whole cast, that generation stands on your shoulders," he added.

8. He fought to keep imperialism out of Black Panther.

Boseman had earlier revealed that Marvel gave him the choice to pick an accent between American and British for Black Panther, but he was adamant that they choose?Xhosa, one of the languages spoken in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Marvel felt it might be "too much for an audience to take". Boseman didn't like that.?

"It felt to me like a deal-breaker. I was like, 'No, this is such an important factor that if we lose this right now, what else are we gonna throw away for the sake of making people feel comfortable?"

9. In a moving speech at the?Howard University, he captured what it meant to be black and excellent and inspired several others.

Soon after the release of Avengers: Infinity War, he delivered a powerful speech at his alma mater Howard University. He talked about the power of protests and how he used it to push the university to do better. The results of his speech came just a week later when students held protests?to demand disarming of campus police, concrete action in sexual assault cases and more housing for younger students among other things.?

10. He would greet fans in person, as a surprise to spread love, joy and happiness.

For an episode of Jimmy Fallon, when fans were recording their messages for Boseman, he made a surprise entry to greet them in person. His friendly and playful interactions made him one of the most humble stars of Hollywood.??

Through his films, he became a voice for black figures.?Black Panther was special not only to him but the black community as a whole. The movie changed the way people looked at Africa.
