Robert Downey Jr Honoured As Disney Legend, Jokes About His Arrest For Smoking Pot In Disneyland

Robert Downey Jr is a legend and there’s no denying that. From fans to Russo Brothers and Avengers: Endgame's executive producer, everyone has been rooting that he gets an Oscar for his stellar performance as Iron Man/Tony Stark in Marvel Cinematic Universe. But before that, he has been honoured as Disney Legend recently at D23 Expo 2019.

Robert Downey Jr who has been a Golden Globe winner and an Academy Award nominee, was bestowed with the honour of Disney Legend along with Jon Favreau, Hans Zimmer and many others.

Like every other time the Marvel star gave a marvellous speech after he got the prestigious award, and we love him 3,000 for this.

As the crowd cheered louder, Robert Downey Jr made an Iron Man style entry. He began his speech with a funny anecdote. He talked about the time when he was arrested in Disneyland for smoking pot.

“Here's a bit of trivia for you. The very first time I went to Disneyland I was transported to another place -- within moments of being arrested,” he said.

“I was brought to a surprisingly friendly processing center, given a strict warning, and returned to, if memory serves, one very disappointed group chaperone. I've been sitting on that shame for a while and I'm just going to release it here tonight.”

“I would like to make amends to whoever had to detain me for smoking pot in a gondola without a license,” he continued.

"And I don't want to further confuse the issue by insinuating that pot smoking licenses for the gondola are in any way obtainable," he added.

After making everyone laugh like always, Robert Downey Jr got a little emotional and thanked everyone who has been a part of his journey and fans who appreciated his performance.
