The world is mourning the loss of veteran Tamil star Delhi Ganesh who passed away due to age-related health issues on November 9th. The 80-year-old actor starred in over 400 films in his glorious career of four decades. Having lived and loved like an icon in his own right, here¡¯s a look at his 5 best career highlights.
Delhi Ganesh served in the Indian Air Force at a reputed rank from 1964 to 1974 but his heart always craved to pursue his passion. Leaving such a stable service job would have definitely been difficult for him but he trusted himself and found a way to the big screen, only to enjoy a massive success that he truly deserved. He made his debut with K. Balachander¡¯s Pattina Pravesam in 1976 and ever since then, there was no looking back for him.
It was in 2013 that Delhi Ganesh starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in his superhit action comedy Chennai Express. While the Tamil star was already a sensation in his own industry, this Rohit Shetty film gave his career a different kind of boost and despite having a small villager role, he got massive praise for his performance.
Delhi Ganesh who always wanted to see his son Mahadevan Ganesh as a hero did anything and everything to fuel his career. Mahadevan started his career by playing supporting roles in films like Ulam Ketkumae and Thirudi but it was tough for him to break through. He then headlined 2016¡¯s Ennul Ayar and that also failed.
