Rajinikanth turns 74: Dhanush wishes his former father-in-law on his special day, calls him ‘my thalaiva’

Rajinikanth, one of Indian cinema’s biggest names, turned 74 on December 12. The actor has inspired countless fans over the years with his stylish reel mannerisms and down-to-earth nature. Dhanush, who has been an ardent admirer of Rajini’s work right from a young age,? wished the mass hero on his big day. In his post of X (formerly known as Twitter), he called him ‘my thalaiva’ and lauded him for redlining the tenets of style. Dhanush was previously married to Aishwaryaa, Rajinikanth’s daughter.?

Rajinikanth, who has been an inseparable part of the Tamil film industry since 1975, turned 74 today (December 12). Dhanush wished with a sweet message on the special day. He affectionately called him ‘my thalaiva’ and stated that he has redefined the principles of mass cinema with his work.?

“Happy birthday to the one, only one, super one .. SUPERSTAR .. the phenomenon tharedefined mass and style .. my thalaiva? ??? @rajinikanth sir,” read the post.?

Dhanush married Aishwaryaa, Rajinikanth’s elder daughter, in 2004. The two decided to part ways in 2022, after being together for nearly two decades. They were granted divorce earlier this year.??Despite these developments in his personal life, the Vada Chennai actor holds Rajini in high regard. He even watch his latest film Vettaiyan in theatres on the first day itself. He was also one of the first stars to praise the veteran actor’s look in Jailer.?

Coming to the present, Rajinikanth will next be seen in Coolie. The actioner is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and marks his first collaboration with the Petta star. Coolie has an ensemble cast that includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj. Rajinikanth also has Jailer 2 in his kitty.??Dhanush on the other hand will soon be seen in Kubera.
