Joseph Prabhu, Samantha’s father, is no more. The star shared the sad news on Instagram Stories.

“Until we meet again, dad,” read her note.?

Joseph Prabhu, who hailed from a Telugu family, was a central figure in Sam’s life. The actress recently revealed that she had a ‘strained’ relationship with her dad and it shaped her personality. She further revealed that he often downplayed her abilities.?

‘He told me, ‘You’re not that smart. This is just the standard of Indian education.’ For a long time, I truly believed I wasn’t good enough,” she said.

Samantha went on to achieve success in life despite dealing with these doubts during her formative years. Moreover, she remained strongly connected with her family even after becoming a star.?

Joseph Prabhu maintained a fairly low profile and stayed away from the public eye. He, however, was in the news some time ago when he commented on Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s split. In an emotional post, he said that the divorce took a toll on him as a father. Joseph also shared some throwback photos from their wedding and added that he was optimistic about his daughter's future.?
