The trailer for Randeep Hooda's upcoming film, 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,' has been released, creating a stir not just for its historical narrative but also due to a comment by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's grandnephew, Chandra Kumar Bose.
On Tuesday, Chandra Kumar Bose took to Twitter to express concerns about the film, urging Hooda to reconsider linking Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose with the character of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the movie.
In a tweet directed at Hooda, Bose emphasised, "@RandeepHooda?- appreciate your making a film on 'Savarkar',but its important to project the true personality! Please refrain from linking 'Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's' name with Savarkar.Netaji was an inclusive secular leader & patriot of patriots."
As of now, Randeep Hooda has not responded to Bose's comment, leaving fans and the public curious about the actor's perspective on the matter.
The trailer not only features Hooda portraying the role of Savarkar but also showcases other prominent leaders and martyrs such as Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Madanlal Dhingra, and Bhagat Singh.
The film promises to get into the untold saga of the Indian Armed Revolution, with its release scheduled for March 22, 2024, in Hindi and Marathi languages.
Apart from Randeep Hooda, the film stars Ankita Lokhande as Savarkar's wife, and Amit Sial plays a pivotal role.
Directed and co-written by Hooda and Utkarsh Naithani, 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' is a collaborative production by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Randeep Hooda Films, in association with Legend Studios and Avak Films.
As the controversy surrounding the film's historical representation grows, all eyes are on Randeep Hooda's response to Chandra Kumar Bose's plea, adding an unexpected layer to the release of 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.'
