Aamir Khan recently opened up on a Netflix India show about taking joint therapy with his daughter Ira Khan to address and resolve some ongoing issues. The ¡®Lagaan¡¯ actor reveals that he recently recognised the importance of therapy and now believes that people should not hesitate to seek professional help.?
In a video posted by the OTT platform, Aamir Khan, along with his daughter Ira Khan and Dr. Vivek Murthy, is seen discussing the importance of mental health. Later in the video, Aamir, says he had a positive experience with therapy because of his daughter Ira, who motivated him to start the process.?
Saying that it has been an incredible experience, Aamir wholeheartedly recommends therapy to the ones who feel that it could help them. Aamir also shared that he and Ira have started attending joint therapy sessions to strengthen their bond and resolve the deep-seated issues between them.
In the same discussion, the Bollywood legend expressed his strong belief in the power of therapy. He admitted that despite considering himself intelligent and able to solve problems on his own. He also notes that therapy has been instrumental in helping him understand his mind better.?
He said, ¡°Therapy is a very powerful thing. I'm a fairly intelligent guy. I can think things through. I'm a sensible guy. If there's an issue, I can sort it out for myself. But no, I can't. It doesn't matter how intelligent you are. It doesn't matter how worldly-wise you are. We know so little about our minds... That a person who has a lot more knowledge and has got the basics right really helps you in leaps and bounds to understand it. In India, a lot of us feel if I go for therapy, I have a mental problem. I don't want people to know I'm going for therapy. But it is okay need help. I have benefited greatly from therapy¡±.
