The ninth day of Navratri is dedicated to the worship of Maa Siddhidatri. The word Siddhi means supernatural power and Dhatri means the awarder. Hence, it is believed that Maa Siddhidatri fulfils all divine aspirations. The story of Maa Siddhidatri begins at a time when our universe was nothing more than a deep void. It was filled with darkness and there was no sign of life. This is when Goddess Kushmanda created the universe with the radiance of her smile.
Today we are celebrating the 9th day of Navratri 2024. So let's take a look at the Goddess?Siddhidatri?Colour,?Puja Vidhi, Shubh Muhurat, Mantra, Bhog and Aarti lyrics.
The 9th day of Navratri known as Maha Navami, holds immense significance and devotees seek blessings from the goddess. It is believed that she grants protection to those in need. Various rituals are performed on this day, including Ayudha Puja, Kanya Pujan, Saraswati Puja, and Hawan.
According to Hindu mythology, followers ritually purify their tools with the deity's blessings by participating in the Ayudha Puja. Ayudha Puja is a prominent tradition where not only the Goddess but also tools, machinery, musical instruments, books, equipment, and even automobiles are worshipped. The day is observed as Saraswati Puja in parts of South India, where students give prayers and revere Goddess Saraswati for her vast wisdom.
Young girls are considered to be an avatar of Nava Durga on earth and during Durga Ashtami and Maha Navami, they are worshipped. It is written in our sacred books that praying a human would get faster results than praying God himself and children are the purest form of human beings. So, to worship the pure soul and acknowledge the power of the feminine, people hold Kanjak Poojan.
The beautiful and eye-catching Arabian jasmine or mogra flower is preferred to worship Maa Mahagauri on the 9th Day of Navratri.
This festival is to pray to the Goddess for the health and achievements of each family. Young women of the Hindu household get to pray to the Goddess for a life partner of their choice. Bathukamma means ¡°The Mother Goddess comes to life¡±.
Andhra Pradesh celebrates the Batthukamma festival on Navami, where women arrange flowers in a distinctive seven-layered, conical shape and offer them to Goddess Gauri, highlighting the beauty and glory of womanhood. Women wear new attire and jewellery.
This day also features the observance of Suvasini Puja and Dampati Puja. In Mysore, a grand procession takes place where the Royal sword is venerated and paraded atop decorated elephants and camels.
The colour of this day is peacock green which represents diversity and abundance. On this day of Navratri, stand out from the crowd by wearing this stunning shade of blue and green. It also stands for the splendour, majesty and beauty of nature.?
On Durga Navami, devotees offer coconut, kheer, pua and panchamrit to Maa Siddhidatri. On this day devotees also perform Kanya Bhoj or Kanya Puja, and offer poori, halwa as a prasad to the goddess.
