International Women's Day 2024: This March 8th, India, as well as various countries worldwide, commemorates International Women¡¯s Day, also known by its acronym IWD. This date recognises the achievements and rights achieved by and for women over the years.
In celebration of Women's Day 2024, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is organising a series of engaging events exclusively for its female commuters. This initiative aims to acknowledge the crucial role women play in utilising the Delhi Metro system and provides a platform for them to share their experiences and showcase their creativity.
The link for 'online experience sharing' will be active on DMRC's official website from February 26 to 29. Additionally, a 'live theme-based artwork' competition is scheduled at Hauz Khas, Rajiv Chowk, and Vishwavidyalaya metro stations on February 28 from 3-4 pm.
A quiz on the social media platform "X" will be conducted from February 26 to March 1. Winners of both the online experience-sharing and live theme-based artwork contests will be chosen based on criteria such as expression of thought, language usage, adherence to word limits, and relevance to the theme. The first person to post the correct answer in the "X" quiz will be declared the winner.
DMRC has consistently worked towards ensuring a safe and comfortable travel experience for women, implementing measures like reserved seats in each coach and dedicated women¡¯s coaches.
The results of the online experience sharing, live art competitions, and online quiz will be announced on March 5. Selected entries will receive certificates of appreciation and prizes.
