The traffic police have advised commuters to avoid these routes until further notice.
These advisories come in the aftermath of the recent arrest of Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged liquor policy scam. A team from the probe agency visited Mr. Kejriwal's residence last evening after he failed to respond to nine summonses for questioning. Following a search and interrogation, they arrested the AAP leader. Officials also reportedly confiscated the mobile phones of Mr. Kejriwal and his family members before taking him into custody.
The ED may request 10-day custody of Kejriwal from the court, alleging his persistent "non-cooperation" in the investigation and to determine his personal involvement and that of his party about the liquor policy and alleged irregularities.
Security has been heightened around the ED office on A P J Abdul Kalam Road and the Chief Minister's official residence, with personnel from the Delhi Police and central armed police forces (CAPFs) erecting additional barricades and forming a security perimeter amidst the presence of waiting press teams and curious onlookers.
