Narasimha Jayanti 2024: History
Lord Narasimha is a manifestation of Lord Vishnu. According to mythology, Vishnu took the form of Narasimha, a half-man, half-lion, to save his devotee Prahlada from his demon king father, Hiranyakashipu. Hiranyakashipu had received a boon that made him invincible to death by god, demon, man, or animal, and he could not be killed indoors or outdoors, day or night. Vishnu, in the form of Narasimha, overcame these protections by killing Hiranyakashipu at dusk, on a doorstep.
