Nowadays, the definition of fun is very different from what it used to be over a decade or so ago.
Youngsters flock to the latest nightclubs in town and spend the entirety of the following day in bed nursing a hangover. Going out is fun but it has started to become quite a mundane activity. I have often noticed many at the most happening of places yawn with a drink in hand. It led me to ask a question, as millennials?are we becoming boring?

Looking at such bored visages, I am transported to the time when we?children used to go on school picnics and play mind stimulating games. In the nineties, children grew up with games that involved a lot of fun participation.
There were evenings to look forward to that soon dissipated as adulthood threw a cold blanket on us.?
I crave simpler times and secretly hope for their revival. Lazy afternoons spent under the shade of a tree with friends and a food basket sound idyllic compared to brunching by the poolside.
We may not be agile enough to play musical chairs but a game of twister or pictionary with a large group of friends would be fun. There was a time when board games were heavily advertised but now they are simply extinct.

Researchers have pointed out that activities like picnics need to be encouraged because this generation especially has spent more time indoors than exploring the outside. The rise in video game culture and the nightclub culture has made everyone coop indoors. A quaint day spent with your loved ones can give you the opportunity to feel more connected to your city and your company.?
And when it comes to game nights where everyone is involved in playing strategic games, it builds character and in certain instances help you prepare for situations in life that need quick thinking which comes with a strong presence of mind.?
In the rat race that we all are a part of, many of us have forgotten how to build relationships. These are the missing pieces of the puzzle. Spending time with family and friends in other ways than simply roughing it out the nightclub is a growing passe and it would be nice to see game nights replace an evening or two.
Off late, I have started to notice how many pubs are realising the importance of providing entertainment to their customers. You would find a game or two lying around to play, especially Jenga!?
When I see people play games like chess on their phones with unknown people from around the world, I am left thinking, what about the folks around you? Why don¡¯t you bring out a game of wooden chess and play with live hands. The touch of it all will make it much more fun.?

It is a need because human interaction is sinking lower with an increase in distractions around us and these enjoyable activities are one of the many ways to bring back the times that we think of nostalgically. So, keep your phone on the side, pull out your carom and get the queen!?
