Women's Day is approaching and with every year, how women think and speak changes as well. The change in general has been becoming positive daily; with that, Women's Day can be seen as a more empowering day.?
An Indian dating app called QuackQuack ran a poll "among 15,000 women from Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities to explore the stereotypes and how modern women are breaking them daily, leaving more space for positive trends to grow. Over 38% of women expressed their optimism about the changing beauty standards. The findings of the poll offer valuable insight into everything that influences romantic connections today as opposed to a few years back."
The study has talked about three basic factors that the women of today are ignoring and getting done with:
Women want to look and seem much more realistic and not portray any fake beauty standards. "48% of women are more inclined towards uploading unedited pictures for their dating profile to attract partners who love them for their authentic selves. For long, there has been unhealthy promotion of unrealistic standards, but there's a growing awareness of the harmful impact of these portrayals. These ladies also mentioned how redefining beauty standards makes life easier for men just as much as women. The once coveted "tall, dark, and handsome" is now obsolete, with women focusing on kindness, education, and general social awareness among men."
People have started giving more and more importance to mental health, especially after COVID-19. So, now women are making sure to not shy away from it. "43% of women between 20 and 35 disclosed feeling more empowered to express themselves authentically, regardless of societal expectations. One notable change in this trend is how women now feel more comfortable articulating their expectations from potential partners, as opposed to earlier, when women expressing their needs were labelled as selfish and greedy. In the current dating climate, with more and more women feeling confident to claim what they deserve and not settle for anything less, there's a growing recognition that communicating one's desires and expectations is essential for building healthy and fulfilling relationships."
Asking out is not about left to the men, women are taking an equal part in this matter. "Data collected from the study show that 35% of women from Tier 1 and 2 cities are starting to take control of their dating narrative. Women of QuackQuack are seizing control of their romantic destinies by initiating conversations with matches. Women are no longer confined to narrow stereotypes of femininity either. Whether it's discussing sports, technology, or traditionally male-dominated fields, women disclosed asserting their right to pursue their passions without conforming to outdated gender norms. More than 30% of employed women over 30 are seen advocating equitable financial arrangements by splitting expenses or taking turns treating their dates."
So, this women's day would not be like others.?
